Thank You For Helping Make History!

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009
Dear Tony,

Thank You For Helping Make History!

On Saturday night, the U.S. House voted to pass a health care reform bill that will end insurance company abuses, require employers to pay a fair share and establish a strong public option to lower costs and make insurance companies compete.  And, it won’t tax the benefits of hard-working middle class families.

Thank you to all our Affiliate leaders, activists, and members, Central Labor Councils, Area Labor Federations, staff and other allies who sent letters, made phone calls, passed out worksite fliers, held press events, attended town hall meetings and talked one-on-one with their co-workers and families about why we need to bring security and stability to our nation’s health care system.

The opponents of reform are working hard to go after representatives who voted right.  Please take a moment to call and thank your representative today for those that voted right for H.R. 3962 – the Affordable Health Care for America Act – historic legislation that includes a public health insurance option, guarantees that employers pay their fair share and doesn’t tax our benefits.  Those that voted right:

Rep. Tammy Baldwin  (202) 225-2906            Rep. Ron Kind  (202) 225-5506

Rep. Gwen Moore (202) 225-4572                 Rep. David Obey (202) 225-3365

            Rep. Steve Kagen (202) 225-5665

We’ll keep you up-to-date on mobilization activities for the bill yet to come forth from the Senate.  However, in the meantime, we wanted to say thank you for your dedication and tireless work in this historic victory.
